ABOUT THE CAUSE

SCRAP is the nation’s oldest creative reuse center. They divert over 200 tons of material from the waste stream per year.

The materials and supplies diverted from the waste stream end up in the hands of tens of thousands of educators, students, artists, and nonprofits throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Their creative reuse programming includes workshops for teachers, students, and creative souls from every walk of life, Free Teachers’ Supplies Give-Aways, school field trips, art tables at community events, and exhibitions of art made from reclaimed materials.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Words by Felipe Colina, FMEP Director of Operations

The diversity of SCRAP's material and community member has infinite potential for filmmakers. In this new video, we would like to capture:

1) The magic that is SCRAP and how it inspires teachers, artists, creatives from all walks of life.
2) The far-reaching effects of SCRAP's mission outside of SCRAP. From collecting/receiving donations, to being a critical resource for artist and teachers.
3) Showcase how artists and teachers use their creativity as they put our materials to use.
