Crews For a Cause Procedural Walkthrough

Our Procedural Walkthrough is designed to streamline the video production process and ensure we are always on the same page with our team. Some steps are subject to change based on individual needs of the project. Generally one or two volunteers (let’s call them the “producer(s)” will be in charge of overseeing the process from start to finish, following these steps:

PRE -
PRODUCTION

  1. Introduction call with organization, volunteer creative(s), and at least one CFaC core team member.

    • Background on the organization will be provided with any ideas made by said organization.

    • A time frame is set to come up with a creative plan for the video.

  2. Volunteer creative(s) develop the creative plan, and send it to CFC & Organization for approval.

  3. Organization reviews and approves creative direction, and we are off to the races!

PRODUCTION

  1. • Producer schedules shoot date(s).

    • Once dates are confirmed with organization and volunteer production team, producer coordinates exactly what equipment is needed and ensures it will be available for shoot.

    • Producer will either be given a hard drive for the project, or reimbursed to purchase one. After each shoot day, producer must make sure all footage is transferred to the drive.

  2. • After filming is finished, producer hands off CFaC drive to volunteer post team to start edit.

POST-
PRODUCTION

  1. Volunteer editor or assistant editor groups and organizes footage, music and other needed elements.
All music will be provided by our donated music libraries.

  2. Producer talks with editor and core team about how the shoots went, and confirm plan for video. From there, a flexible due date for rough cut is set.

  3. Once ready, rough cut is submitted to CFaC board for notes and approval.

  4. Video is sent to organization for one, or no more than two rounds of notes.

  5. Once video is approved by organization and everyone is happy with the content, if applicable a colorist will take a pass and make any final tweaks.

  6. Producer or editor creates cue sheet for music contributor records.

  7. After color correction editor creates final exports for video to CFC physical drive, and hands off CFaC drive with final exports and project files back to CFaC core team member.

  8. After final project is delivered, a prompt round of crisp high-fives will be coordinated immediately!!

And don’t worry, we’ll be with you every step of the way, making sure that everything is running smoothly and everyone is happy!
