When COVID-19 pandemic started, people all over the world took it upon themselves to help their communities. We are excited to share the first project from our series which showcases some of those causes: Invisible Hands.

Invisible Hands is a nonprofit that helps deliver food and medicine to those most in need during this crisis, and now with over 11,000 volunteers they’re hoping to grow even more to become a nation-wide volunteer group.

THE PRODUCTION STORY

In the time of Covid-19 this was a very unique one for us as it was our first production that was done totally remote, with no cast or crew ever working in the same place at the same time. The director Stebs took this as a welcomed challenge and created new processes and online portals of bringing on remote volunteers to submit videos they filmed themselves to then be organized and used in the creation of the film. Once they had collected video content from over 40 volunteers Stebs worked with an editor living in NYC - Stephen Szmed - to put it all together in one cohesive story telling the mission of Invisible Hands. He also worked alongside a composer in Los Angeles - Dan Mehta - to create a custom music piece to compliment the emotional content in the film. Overall we think the film beautifully represented not just the organization but the feelings of the hard working volunteers serving their community every day.

DIRECTOR / STEBS SCHINNERER

IN HIS OWN WORDS:
”I absolutely loved being a part of this project. It was a new experience for me working with all these volunteers remotely - directing from California with people working in New York City - but it ended up turning out great! This is largely thanks to the fantastic Invisible Hands volunteers, the great collaborators on the I.H. team and the amazing production crew I had in Stephen and Dan!”

A WORD FROM THE INVISIBLE HANDS TEAM

Crews for a Cause worked so hard to make this exactly what we wanted. They took our input, infused their own creativity, and made this project a beautiful and seamless portrayal of the power of everyday people.
